11 Dec Update on the 90 Day Challenge
I’ve kept my end of the bargain of the 90 day challenge. I’ve been writing down 10 things I’m grateful for in my gratitude journal. It has changed my mood and brought more happiness and balance into my life. I’ve been so excited about it that it’s caused me to make additional 90 Day challenges for this holiday season.
I’m a subscriber to a colleague’s blog (Tess’ Blog) who writes about removing clutter from your life. Her name is Tess Whitehurst. I encourage you to read more about her services. She has written several books within a short period of time. I asked her how she did it. She told me writes daily for 90 minutes. She meditates and just writes without agenda. Over time, a theme and outline emerged and within a few months she had her first book.
I’ve been wanting to write a book forever, and I’ve make excuses that I never have time between being a mother, wife, therapist and business owner. How am I ever going to have time to write a book on top of all the things I do? I started reading a book called, “The Happiness Project” by Gretchen Rubin. Gretchen is a wife, writer and mother. Some how she makes it happens and still makes time to exercise.
I began problem-solving ways to make it work. Gretchen mentions going to bed early and cutting out television (sticking to movies on Netflix or others). This means I would have to give up my late nights watching all my favorite shows. I told myself…I can do this for 90 days. That is what I’m doing. I have decided to go to bed at 9 or 9:30 p.m. every night and wake up at 5 a.m. to write for 90 mins, before my son wakes me up to make him breakfast. This way I get more sleep then what I was getting before and I’ll get a lot more done. This is perfect. I’m a morning person anyways.
In addition, I usually run 3- 4x/week, so I decided to look into 20 min work outs for days I can’t run to bring me more energy.
I’m going to take this 90 day challenge to another level and see what it brings. I encourage you to do the same. Stretch yourself. It’s only 90 days. I have a feeling I’ll have more energy this holiday season, by getting started on my resolutions earlier and increasing energy. 2012 here I come!
What are you willing to commit to for the 90 day challenge? I look forward to hearing how you will stretch yourself for the holidays and the new year!!! Get a jump start on your resolutions.
