Music Meditation

I hope you enjoy this audio description on Music Meditation.  We can meditate in many ways.  There are some folks who say they don’t know how to meditate or don’t have time.  This meditation will take you 2 – 5 minutes.

I’d like you to get comfortable in a chair or lying on your bed.  Listen to your favorite piece of music that is self-soothing.  It might be orchestra or soothing ambiant music.  Get comfortable and begin slow rhythmic breathing.  Follow your breathe and listen to the music.  Allow yourself to listen to every music instrument as if you heard it for the first time.  Lose yourself to the music.  Be there completely.  Allow yourself to lose time or space.  If thoughts enter your mind, notice them and come back to the music.  Breathe with ever sound.

I have attached my audio instructions.  I’d love to hear about your experience after the exercise.  Did you like it?  Was it challenging to follow the music?  Did you lose your focus?  What took you away from your focus?

Keep practicing.  This is the way we learn how to train our attention on the things that mean the most to us.  Instead of allowing our mind to run the show.  I hope you find this exercise helpful.
