10 Oct Motivation: What are your strengths?
This article was written by Recovery Help Now’s, Vanessa Blaxland, MFTi.
Do you ever have a bunch of ideas of what you’d like to do but can never seem to get motivated enough to follow through with your ideas or plans? Often we sit waiting for motivation to find us. Unfortunately motivation sometimes likes to take its sweet time. So why not be intentional about gaining motivation and go out and find it?
One way to increase motivation is by becoming aware of and understanding your strengths. Once you know what you’re good at you can then start thinking about how your strengths can help you reach your goals. Seeing how your strengths can help you get what you want will hopefully give you a clearer idea of your path to reaching your goals and make them seem that much closer to coming true, striking up some motivation to get started.
I suggest going to www.authentichappiness.com and taking the VIA Strengths Survey. What were your top strengths? How can you use them to get motivated?
